CCAA’s Demo Artist, June 24: Bobbie Belvel

Award-winning artist Bobbie Belvel will demonstrate the five stages she uses in completing a pastel painting, for
either plein air or studio projects. The demo will explain the initial stages of the notan, sketch, block out, underpainting, and final pastel application. In the interest of time, only the underpainting and final pastel will be demonstrated.

Bobbie also loves to paint in oils, although her primary focus has been as a pastellist. She is a Signature member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast, and holds memberships in MBPAPA and the California Art Club. An artist almost from birth (!), she generally focuses on the pure landscape. She received her art degree from UC Santa Cruz, and over the years has taken pastel and oil workshops with Terri Ford, Kim Lordier, Tom Soltesz, and Thomas Jefferson Kitts among others.
