Charlsie Kelly

Charlsie Kelly is an award-winning artist who was based in Pacific Grove for many years, left to travel the world and paint for 10, and returned to the Monterey Bay area last year to find her muse in her “home town”.

Gallery owner, educator and author; art has opened the door to each for Charlsie.

Working primarily in watercolors for 20 years, Charlsie’s foreign travel was fueled by mural painting using acrylics, latex and oils – in Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, Tanzania, Italy and other places around the world.

Currently Charlsie maintains a studio in the Pacific Grove Art Center, where she also teaches classes in watercolor and drawing, as well as holding weekend workshops. She’s also teaching at Open Ground Studios in Seaside, and working with elementary students in the Salinas City Schools.

A main focus is producing paintings for Art Licensing, a company that promotes her work for use in the retail market.
