Emily Hull-Parsons

I come from a family of creative types. My father was a photographer, my uncle was a columnist and painter, and my mother was an extremely talented, but very hesitant artist in many mediums.  When she passed away at 88, I discovered boxes of unopened painting supplies she had not used for fear of being judged as "not good enough". That was the day I decided to paint in her memory and begin the process of learning to be "good enough"!

Although I completed my BFA from University of Illinois, I went on to become a management consultant and did not use the artistic side for years. I have now dusted it off and begun to paint the rolling hills of California, the rugged Pacific coastline and continued my love affair with old barns. I work mostly in acrylics, but have also been experimenting with painting on silk.
Experimenting, learning, and growing I continue my artistic journey!
