Sandra Uecker

Sandra Schaetzel Uecker, a Wisconsin native, lives in Corral de Tierra, California. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with an BS in Education/English and BA in Art Education. She taught locally at Alisal HS and North Salinas HS.

In 2011, after finally “graduating” she now makes the time for her love of painting in acrylics. Influenced by Hopper, O’Keeffe, Vuillard and most Impressionists, her chosen subject matter includes narrative landscapes and still life…and a little exploration of the portrait.

Sandra is a member locally of CCAA, the Monterey Peninsula Art Foundation and Sea Scribe, the Thelma Art Center, and the Fond du Lac Artist Association in Wisconsin. She is a contributing artist to the Monterey Museum of Art “Miniatures,” the Pacific Grove Art Center “Tiny Treasures Show, “Art in the Pastures of Heaven” at the Church of the Good Shepard, and this year the Bach Festival. Her work has received “The People’s Choice Award” in the juried THELMA Membership Show, been selected/exhibited for the juried Arts Council for Monterey annual show and she has received awards of recognition in several shows.

As an educator and now a student of art, her study of art
continues…!!                “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”
Edgar Degas!
